Gaggle of Chicks
Go here:
http://www.gaggleofchicks.com/r/15617
and check out a website for moms called Gaggle of Chicks. In their own words:
"Gaggle of Chicks offers daily deals on the best products and services for moms and their families delivered right to their inboxes. We are highly selective about the deals we feature, opting for vendors who have been recommended by our network of moms, not just who give us the best deal. Our partners range from bakeries and beauty products to children's classes and mommy boot camps. We use a new social approach to buying. If enough moms sign up for a deal and become part of the Gaggle, it "hatches" and everyone receives the discount."
I've gotten a cardboard playhouse that Luci got to color before playing in it for $5. Organic fruit pouches for $7 after S & H. Every 2-3 days there is a new deal. Today's deal is:
40% off Oliver's Labels
For only $11, you can get $20 worth of personalized labels for clothing, toys, sippie cups, and anything else that might get lost in the shuffle of your little one's daily grind.

Coupon for Free Country Bob's
Ink
Printing coupons online can use up a lot of ink. Here are a few tips.
If you can set your printer to print Black Ink Only / Gray scale AND Fast Draft it will use less ink.
Watching the coupon print and stopping it before the advertisement prints by hitting the cancel button saves ink as well. This works for Bricks coupons. Just don't do that if you are printing at coupons.com because you might lose a coupon! And make sure you WATCH to see that the coupon has finished printing. Some coupons print at the top, middle or bottom. You don't want to loose it.
Refill you ink at Walgreens at Crosstown. It usually costs $14 to refill and they often put that on sale for either $10 or $7 so watch the weekly ad. The box they return your cartridge in usually comes with a 50% your next refill coupon so again...$7.
You can buy cartridges that have already been refilled at Office Max for less than the brand name usually costs. Our main printer takes HP 56 Black ink which costs between $25-30 but I can buy a refilled cartridge for only $18 at Office Max. Nice savings, I think.

Reminder: Sunday Paper Tomorrow!
Don't forget to grab you Sunday paper tomorrow! Check it before you buy it: we are looking for 2 Smart Source and 1 Red Plum. It's time for another Proctor and Gamble but I do not see that listed on anyone's site. Maybe we'll be delightfully surprised. ALWAYS check out the Parade Magazine that comes in the paper. It has coupons in it too sometimes. Check out the schedule here:

Great Coupon Class
I got to teach nine great ladies how to coupon last night. I love teaching and it's even more fun to teach a receptive class!! I've prayed for each of those ladies this morning that God will bless them, put people in their path to encourage them and that He helps them take this information to bless their home and others. Thank you all for coming last night and THANK YOU Stephanie for opening your home to each of us. Ladies, don't forget to ask questions as needed and to sign up to host your own party (no charge for you) so you can hear the information again and share it with others.

Dannon Yogurt is $1.49 minus a $1 Q = $0.49
Heluva Good Dips 99¢ minus a doubled $0.50 Q = Free!
Kraft Singles, 16 ct., $1.99 minus a $1 Q = $0.99

Cheap Diapers at Walgreens
We are lucky that our youngest can wear any brand diapers with out breaking into a rash or having leaking issues. That makes for a great deal at Walgreens this week.

This is already a great deal because it makes diapers $4.50 a pack when you buy two.
W Brand Wipes BOGO 50% off $2.54
One is $2.54 and the second is $1.27
Add to this that the wipes each had $2.00 off when you buy diapers and wipes MFC on them.
The Infant Care book has $2.00 off when you buy diapers Store Coupon
So: 2 packs of diapers $18.00
2 packs of wipes $5.08
Less 2 $2.00 wyb diapers and wipes coupons
2 $2.00 wyb diapers store coupon
BOGO diapers ($9.00)
BOGO 50% wipes ($1.27)
$23.08-4.00-4.00-9.00-1.27= $4.81 for 2 packs of diapers and 2 packs of wipes or $1.20 each. That's a 79% savings! I could have saved more by paying with a $3 RR but I'm saving my RR for items that generate RR so that I can keep the savings rolling.

Awesome Walmart Trip
Went to Walmart after work today because my friend told me about some pj's being clearanced out for $1. Did not find those but found something equally awesome. They had Charmin clearanced at 75% off. I got one 30 roll pack, three 9 Mega rolls packs, a 6 pack of Bounty Basic paper towels, three bags of candy melts, two packs of tights for my 5 year old and three pairs of pants for my 1 year old for $23.75. WOW. The cashier said that they just did not have room for them and did not want to store them in the back. Yesterday she said it was the big bottles of All and Tide detergent for $2.50 each. Can you believe that!! I need to check the clearance section more often. I've never seen paper products over there! The key is that YOU HAVE to check out in SPORTING GOODS. Otherwise it is not 75% off. I'm doing the clearance dance as I type! That was awesome. The one 30 roll pack normally runs $18 all by itself. :)

March 7th Shopping Trips
I had a great day today thanks to sales and coupons. I made a stop at two different Walgreens so that I do not clear the shelves at one store. It's so much better to spread things out. Another idea (good for Kroger too) is to shop at the beginning of a sale and then at the end.
Walgreens looked a bit like this:
5Cases of Coke Zero 3.50 each -$2/1 store coupon that took off $10 ($1.50 each)
4packs of Orbit Gum on sale for .99 each used a store coupon that took off .30 each and Two B1G1 coupons that made two of them free. (or 4 for $0.35 each)
4 Boxes of Pedia Care (Fever/Pain Reducer, Cold, Allergy medicines for Infants and Children) Two were 5.99 and two were 7.99. Used two -$3/2 manufacture coupons and a store coupon that was -$5/1 which took off $20. ($0.25 each)

Starting Off
I've been posting on people's blogs for years. Member of Facebook too. I finally feel God leading me in the path of teaching more than the occasional coupon class of friends. My two greatest joys from those occasional classes are two friends who took it and ran with it. One is another teacher and also mom of two small children. She and I keep each other updated on diaper and formula deals. She does better than I do a lot of the time. So proud of Sandra! The other is my best friend Rachel. On again / of again working mom of four and wife of an often on the road sports reporter. They are an amazing family and she does a great job of balancing school, work, travel, and a TON of after school clubs and sports for the kids. How she still finds time to coupon is amazing.
Couponing takes planning a dedication. You don't have to get every deal--you don't need all of it, you'd probably break your budget and you'd also run out of space. The ideal is to know the things you use the most of and do your best not to pay full price for them anymore. It WILL take time to grasp everything but that's ok. Stay motivated and work one store at a time. I learned Kroger first, moved on to Walgreens and then CVS. The occasional trip to Memphis to see family meant I got to try my hand at Target too. There have been MANY deals that did not work like I wanted them to but it's ok. I still spent less than I would have so I learned to remain thankful for the blessings God has given.
Don't forget to ask questions on blogs-mine as well as those that follow posts on the websites that I've given you in the workshop. Most couponers like to help out others frequently. :) Good luck and be sure to keep me updated on great shopping trips!!
