Ok, here is what I've found when it comes to B1G1 coupons and using $ off coupons with them. With the exception of Target who has specifically mentioned in their NEW coupon policy that you cannot combine $ off with a B1G1 here is what you can do:
You can only do this with certain coupons. Look at the barcode of the B1G1 free coupon and look at the numbers in the 10th and 11th spot. If they say "00" or "01", it only attached that coupon to the free item, so you can then use a coupon for the buy item. If the numbers are "14", it attaches it to both the buy item and the free item, so you can only use the B1G1 on them.
You just have to give the $ amount coupon first, then give the buy one give one coupon. This way it works. Say the item is $3...you give them a $2 off coupon. You are now paying $1 for that item. Now give them the B1G1 coupon. You will now get the second item for free. All in all you paid $1 for 1 item and got the other free.
I am exited to try this out with these coupons:
Save $1.50 on any 1 V8 V-Fusion juice , Buy 2 V8 V-Fusion juice and get one bottle of V8 V-Fusion + Tea FREE!
May have to order some more Qs online for this one. We don't normally get this but I think this is a pretty good deal when on sale somewhere. :)

I've got the $5 catalinia from a few weeks ago so I'll start with transaction #2. (Probably pay with some RR too). $10 means that the diapers are $4.50 each and the wipes $1.00, which is my highest buy price for each. I have a $3 RR from buying Cottonelle so I'll pay a little over $7 after I add a filler item.

Another link!
Here's another link to Cottonelle. I got to print six from one computer and four from another. I don't know why it printed more and why 6/4 but it means I have plenty of coupons for next month's sale at WAGs. Let me know how many prints you get!

Great Walgreens Deals Start Next Week
I'm so conflicted!! GREAT deals start this Sunday at Walgreens. I know that to get them I"ve got to shop early. Sunday is also Adam's birthday.
ALSO, there are several personal care items that will be free or cheap. The victims of the Smithville tornado (or others you might know of) would greatly appreciate anything you can do for them. This would be a great time to put those couponing skills to use in order to be Jesus' hands and feet. There are SO many drop off locations in and around Tupelo (Tupelo Middle and Premier Countertops are two I know of) so help in any way you can!
Thanks Christie for the list of deals!!!

Kroger
New sale starts tomorrow. I'm very disappointed that it is not going to be a new Mega Event. I guess we'll have to wait two weeks and see if it is coming. Here are my favorites for tomorrow:
There were several coupons for $0.35 off Goldfish Grahams online a few weeks ago. These will come in handy now because they will be on sale for $1.00 or $0.30 after double coupon. :) Check dealseekingmom's coupon database to see if they are still out there. Even at a dollar you are are saving 50% of the Walmart cost.
Green bell peppers are going to be $0.68 each. They've been $3-4 lately so I'm excited to see this price. I plan on grabbing ten or so, chopping them up and throwing them in the freezer. I might even try my hand and planting the seeds to grow my own plants.
Kraft slices (16 I think) will be on sale for $1.79 and I printed several $0.75 off coupons from coupons.com recently which will make them $1.04 a pack.
I plan on getting 8 Goldfish grahams, 4 Multi-grain Goldfish, ten bell peppers and six packs of cheese for less than $20. Check out the Kroger list on Southernsavers and let me know what you're excited about. Maybe I overlooked something cool. :)

$10 Pillow Pets Today (Tuesday) Only!
I was in Kroger at crosstown today and saw Pillow Pets marked down to $10. I do not know if they will still be marked down tomorrow when new deals start so if you are in town today you'll want to grab these up and hold on to them for Christmas or birthdays. The ones I saw were bunnies, puppies, unicorns, penguins, pandas, Valentines puppy, lady bug and bumble bee. I have to go tomorrow so I'll let you know what I see. BTW, there are still tons of Reece's eggs in the 50% section. Might look for some Qs.

Cheap Coke Zero at Walgreens
Ok, here's something that looks too good to be true so it must be! I plan to check it out tomorrow and let you know if it worked. Several sites have this deal posted:
I asked one of the local managers if I could give a cashier a store coupon number if I did not bring the coupon with me. He said yes. I tried it today on Pampers, knowing I had the coupon in my purse if I needed it, and the cashier looked at me like I was trying to cheat the system but typed it in anyway.
So, tomorrow I will go to WAGS and pick up three cases of coke zero and one eight pack of the mini cans, maybe in Sprite. I'll give my cashier these store coupon numbers and see what happens. If not, I've gotten an ok deal. If it works then I'll be super excited!! I'll be doing the cheap coke zero dance in the parking lot. Then I'll come home and let you know how it went.
This could also be a GREAT thing for the following week. The week of April 17 WAGS will have Coke products on sale 5 cases for $13. This is already a good deal. If the Coke Zero store coupon works I'll get 5 cases for $3 plus the tax on the original cost...so around $4 after taxes. Again, Coke Zero dance in the parking lot will be done. I hope it doesn't cause it to rain Coke Zero....
I hope the shelves don't get cleared out....

Honest Couponing
This article comes from a site I enjoy. With all the hype about the Extreme Couponing show I thought it would be appropriate. Thanks http://kingdomfirstmom.com/
The following is a guest post from Dana of Mrs. Moneysaver. Dana’s mission in life is to love God and love people. Helping others do more with less is one way Dana hopes to serve and show love to those in her community and nationwide.
His message- the love of money is slavery.
As Jesus illustrates the portrait of the dishonest man and his money, notice that he compares the dishonesty to slavery. Like a cruel taskmaster, the man’s love of money becomes master and forces him into a hatred of God.
What can we learn from this parable?
Money, possessions, wealth—these things are not wrong in and of themselves. This bears repeating. Having (lots and lots of) money isn’t wrong! It’s the love of money that is wrong.
We know we love money when it takes control over our lives. When we disobey God’s will in order to get it (or save it), we’re giving money the control in our lives. And we’re allowing money to become our master. And here’s the thing:
If money is your master, there is no room for Christ as Master.
What about those of us who are journeying toward a more frugal lifestyle? Those of us who are striving to be good stewards of the monetary wealth God has given? What could Christ be saying to us in Luke 16?
Are we so consumed with saving a buck (or even a quarter) that we would sacrifice our honesty to do so? If so, then we are being slaves to money. We are turning away from what God desires for us to do as we seek after money. If you are trying to live frugally, being a slave to money may look much different than many in the world. They may be chasing after money by working long hours and buying expensive cars. But you may be rationalizing your own way of monetary slavery.
If we have set up the idol of frugal living in our lives, we may be led to do dishonest (sinful) things in the pursuit of our idol. Have you ever read the fine print on coupons? Or on a drugstore customer rewards card application? The legal stuff. The rules. The “contract” details, if you will, that dictate the agreement we enter into with the company by way of our signature or decision to take part in a program. This fine print calls us to an honest use of the coupon or rewards card.
For example, a drugstore rewards program might limit you to one card per person or household. It would be dishonest to acquire multiple cards for your use. Or perhaps an internet coupon for a free product says limit one print per customer in the fine print. To print many copies and use them to get loads of free stuff would be dishonest as well.
Our government’s laws require us to obey the wishes of the companies in their legal fine print, not find a way around them. And God asks that we obey the laws in our country. (See Romans 13:1-5.)
Don’t know or understand the fine print? Ask the company! I’m sure they would appreciate your honesty as well.
Of course, our God is a loving and forgiving God. And He cares most about our hearts. If you unknowingly disobey a store’s rules, He knows your motivation and heart, so find peace in that truth.
Perhaps we should all take some time today to ask God to show us what we are a slave to. Am I a slave to money? Or to our Lord? I must seek His heart in learning the best ways I can live a frugal life and honor God with my finances.
The following is a guest post from Dana of Mrs. Moneysaver. Dana’s mission in life is to love God and love people. Helping others do more with less is one way Dana hopes to serve and show love to those in her community and nationwide.
Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own? No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” –Luke 16:10-13Jesus was directing his message to two contrasting social groups. First, he was directly speaking to his disciples, a group of ragtag villagers and fishermen who had very little. And secondly, he was addressing the Pharisees, a group of the educated, wealthy and elite. Jesus had a similar message for both, a message that will benefit us these two thousand years later should we choose to listen.
His message- the love of money is slavery.
As Jesus illustrates the portrait of the dishonest man and his money, notice that he compares the dishonesty to slavery. Like a cruel taskmaster, the man’s love of money becomes master and forces him into a hatred of God.

How could you possibly become a slave to money while trying to be frugal?
If money becomes an idol in our lives in any way, it’s sin. The idol worship of it may differ- from saving money to spending money- but it’s sin nonetheless. God commands us to have no other Gods besides Him. (Exodus 20:3) If my focus is on my frugal lifestyle rather than the Lord, I have set up an idol in my life. I need to remember to consistently ask for God’s grace in not becoming consumed by money saving. If we have set up the idol of frugal living in our lives, we may be led to do dishonest (sinful) things in the pursuit of our idol. Coupon Fraud
If you have been couponing for a while or if I taught you then you should know what constitutes coupon fraud.
1. Using a coupon for something other than what is specified. Many coupons state "good on any" so you can use it on any...even a trial/travel size. When it tells you something specific that is all you can use it on. If your coupon states "Good on Classico Pasta Sauce 40 ounce" then you are not supposed to use it on the 15 ounce. This goes for cleaners, toilet paper and make up. Whatever it is, if it gives you a size restriction do not use it on a smaller size.
2. Do not copy a coupon. EVER. You two prints for internet printed coupons for a reason. Do not copy these!
3. Using the computer to alter a coupon. We've come so far with technology in the last 15 years and can do such great things with computers. Creating or altering a coupon is fraud. It takes money away from the store and the manufacture. Same goes for using one. It's hard to know when it comes to using internet printed coupons if we don't find them at the manufacture's webstie, coupons.com or another site we are used to. If you are uncertain about its validity use a coupon database like Deal Seeking Mom, Hot Coupon World or BeCentsAble.
Adam and I watched TLC's Extreme Couponing Wednesday night and one lady really bothered me. For starters she was clearing the shelves which I always teach not to do. I understand if there's only four left and you need those four...but larger quantities when they are limited is not thinking about others. If Kroger has ten shelves full of Powerade and you want to grab 30-ok. You could even buy 15 now and come back in a few days or at the end of the two week sale and grab the other 15. Kroger is generally good about staying stocked. (Except when people come through and clear the shelves)
Turns out that this lady was also using coupons on items other than what was specified. Here's the link:
http://jillcataldo.com/node/16258
Be a responsible and honest couponer. If coupon fraud increases many companies are likely to stop putting coupons out there. Stores are less likely to take them. You don't want to ruin it for everyone. :)

Great Coupon Class
I had such a great time at Kacie's house last night teaching how to coupon effectively. Kacie is such a sweet & beautiful lady and she's already got such a great grasp on couponing. Way to go girl! I've prayed for each of those ladies this morning that God will bless them, put people in their path to encourage them and that He helps them take this information to bless their home and others. Thank you all for coming last night and THANK YOU Kacie for opening your home to each of us. Ladies, don't forget to ask questions as needed and to sign up to host your own party (no charge for you) so you can hear the information again and share it with others.
Rare Coupons. Print Now!
Coupons.com has two coupons out now that I rarely see so go ahead and print. The good ones always have print limits and vanish quickly. Click the Food tab on the left and search for .35/1 Goldfish and .75/1 Kraft Cheese Slices. The Goldfish coupon will double at Kroger. We might have a sale coming so hold on to it.

Gaggle of Chicks
Go here:
http://www.gaggleofchicks.com/r/15617
and check out a website for moms called Gaggle of Chicks. In their own words:
"Gaggle of Chicks offers daily deals on the best products and services for moms and their families delivered right to their inboxes. We are highly selective about the deals we feature, opting for vendors who have been recommended by our network of moms, not just who give us the best deal. Our partners range from bakeries and beauty products to children's classes and mommy boot camps. We use a new social approach to buying. If enough moms sign up for a deal and become part of the Gaggle, it "hatches" and everyone receives the discount."
I've gotten a cardboard playhouse that Luci got to color before playing in it for $5. Organic fruit pouches for $7 after S & H. Every 2-3 days there is a new deal. Today's deal is:
40% off Oliver's Labels
For only $11, you can get $20 worth of personalized labels for clothing, toys, sippie cups, and anything else that might get lost in the shuffle of your little one's daily grind.

Coupon for Free Country Bob's
Ink
Printing coupons online can use up a lot of ink. Here are a few tips.
If you can set your printer to print Black Ink Only / Gray scale AND Fast Draft it will use less ink.
Watching the coupon print and stopping it before the advertisement prints by hitting the cancel button saves ink as well. This works for Bricks coupons. Just don't do that if you are printing at coupons.com because you might lose a coupon! And make sure you WATCH to see that the coupon has finished printing. Some coupons print at the top, middle or bottom. You don't want to loose it.
Refill you ink at Walgreens at Crosstown. It usually costs $14 to refill and they often put that on sale for either $10 or $7 so watch the weekly ad. The box they return your cartridge in usually comes with a 50% your next refill coupon so again...$7.
You can buy cartridges that have already been refilled at Office Max for less than the brand name usually costs. Our main printer takes HP 56 Black ink which costs between $25-30 but I can buy a refilled cartridge for only $18 at Office Max. Nice savings, I think.

Reminder: Sunday Paper Tomorrow!
Don't forget to grab you Sunday paper tomorrow! Check it before you buy it: we are looking for 2 Smart Source and 1 Red Plum. It's time for another Proctor and Gamble but I do not see that listed on anyone's site. Maybe we'll be delightfully surprised. ALWAYS check out the Parade Magazine that comes in the paper. It has coupons in it too sometimes. Check out the schedule here:

I got to teach nine great ladies how to coupon last night. I love teaching and it's even more fun to teach a receptive class!! I've prayed for each of those ladies this morning that God will bless them, put people in their path to encourage them and that He helps them take this information to bless their home and others. Thank you all for coming last night and THANK YOU Stephanie for opening your home to each of us. Ladies, don't forget to ask questions as needed and to sign up to host your own party (no charge for you) so you can hear the information again and share it with others.
Cheap Pretzel Crisps
There is a $1/1 coupon out there for Pretzel crisps. I have mine saved to my desk top (on my other computer) and they just released a coupon today for BOGO which means 2 bags for $0.98 at Walmart!! Make sure you give them the $1/1 first.

Mega Event at Kroger
A new mega event (buy ten participating items and get $5 off at the register. Prices already reflect the $5 off) starts tomorrow (Wed. 3/16) at Kroger. There are several things you can get for under a $1 and you can walk out with cheap tuna and free pasta. Remember for a mega event you have to buy the # stated. For this it is multiples of ten, mix and match. So you can buy 50 items and get $5 off 5 times. Also remember it is mix and match so you dont have to buy 10 of one item.
Dannon Yogurt is $1.49 minus a $1 Q = $0.49
Heluva Good Dips 99¢ minus a doubled $0.50 Q = Free!
Kraft Singles, 16 ct., $1.99 minus a $1 Q = $0.99
Philadelphia Cooking Cremes, 10 oz, $1.99 minus a $1.50 Q = $0.49
Kim & Scott’s Frozen Pretzels 2 ct, $1.78 8minus a $1 Q = $0.78
Bumble Bee Tuna Pouches, 2.5 oz., 49¢
Ronzoni Garden Delight, Healthy Harvest or Smart Taste Pasta 12-13.5 oz., 49¢ minus a $1/2 Q = Free!
Vitaminwater, 20 oz., 49¢
Sunny Delight 64 oz. 89¢ minus a doubled $0.25 Q = $0.39!
Those are just some of my favorites.
Also supposed to be on sale but not part of the mega event:
General Mills cereals (Cheerios, Lucky Charms...) $2.18
There are several $0.55 Qs that will double to take off $1.10 so $1.08 a box!
Kraft Cheese Bar or Shredded, 5-8 oz., $1.99 minus a $1 Q = $0.99
Again, these are just some favorites. Check out the full list at

Cheap Diapers at Walgreens
We are lucky that our youngest can wear any brand diapers with out breaking into a rash or having leaking issues. That makes for a great deal at Walgreens this week.
Walgreens W Brand Diapers BOGO $9.00
This is already a great deal because it makes diapers $4.50 a pack when you buy two.
W Brand Wipes BOGO 50% off $2.54
One is $2.54 and the second is $1.27
Add to this that the wipes each had $2.00 off when you buy diapers and wipes MFC on them.
The Infant Care book has $2.00 off when you buy diapers Store Coupon
So: 2 packs of diapers $18.00
2 packs of wipes $5.08
Less 2 $2.00 wyb diapers and wipes coupons
2 $2.00 wyb diapers store coupon
BOGO diapers ($9.00)
BOGO 50% wipes ($1.27)
$23.08-4.00-4.00-9.00-1.27= $4.81 for 2 packs of diapers and 2 packs of wipes or $1.20 each. That's a 79% savings! I could have saved more by paying with a $3 RR but I'm saving my RR for items that generate RR so that I can keep the savings rolling.

Awesome Walmart Trip
Went to Walmart after work today because my friend told me about some pj's being clearanced out for $1. Did not find those but found something equally awesome. They had Charmin clearanced at 75% off. I got one 30 roll pack, three 9 Mega rolls packs, a 6 pack of Bounty Basic paper towels, three bags of candy melts, two packs of tights for my 5 year old and three pairs of pants for my 1 year old for $23.75. WOW. The cashier said that they just did not have room for them and did not want to store them in the back. Yesterday she said it was the big bottles of All and Tide detergent for $2.50 each. Can you believe that!! I need to check the clearance section more often. I've never seen paper products over there! The key is that YOU HAVE to check out in SPORTING GOODS. Otherwise it is not 75% off. I'm doing the clearance dance as I type! That was awesome. The one 30 roll pack normally runs $18 all by itself. :)

March 7th Shopping Trips
I had a great day today thanks to sales and coupons. I made a stop at two different Walgreens so that I do not clear the shelves at one store. It's so much better to spread things out. Another idea (good for Kroger too) is to shop at the beginning of a sale and then at the end.
Walgreens looked a bit like this:
5Cases of Coke Zero 3.50 each -$2/1 store coupon that took off $10 ($1.50 each)
4packs of Orbit Gum on sale for .99 each used a store coupon that took off .30 each and Two B1G1 coupons that made two of them free. (or 4 for $0.35 each)
4 Boxes of Pedia Care (Fever/Pain Reducer, Cold, Allergy medicines for Infants and Children) Two were 5.99 and two were 7.99. Used two -$3/2 manufacture coupons and a store coupon that was -$5/1 which took off $20. ($0.25 each)

Starting Off
I've been posting on people's blogs for years. Member of Facebook too. I finally feel God leading me in the path of teaching more than the occasional coupon class of friends. My two greatest joys from those occasional classes are two friends who took it and ran with it. One is another teacher and also mom of two small children. She and I keep each other updated on diaper and formula deals. She does better than I do a lot of the time. So proud of Sandra! The other is my best friend Rachel. On again / of again working mom of four and wife of an often on the road sports reporter. They are an amazing family and she does a great job of balancing school, work, travel, and a TON of after school clubs and sports for the kids. How she still finds time to coupon is amazing.
Couponing takes planning a dedication. You don't have to get every deal--you don't need all of it, you'd probably break your budget and you'd also run out of space. The ideal is to know the things you use the most of and do your best not to pay full price for them anymore. It WILL take time to grasp everything but that's ok. Stay motivated and work one store at a time. I learned Kroger first, moved on to Walgreens and then CVS. The occasional trip to Memphis to see family meant I got to try my hand at Target too. There have been MANY deals that did not work like I wanted them to but it's ok. I still spent less than I would have so I learned to remain thankful for the blessings God has given.
Don't forget to ask questions on blogs-mine as well as those that follow posts on the websites that I've given you in the workshop. Most couponers like to help out others frequently. :) Good luck and be sure to keep me updated on great shopping trips!!
